Kyle Phillips Breaks Out with the New Entry Riddim
New Trinidadian producer Kyle Phillips breaks out with his aptly-named first soca compilation New Entry Riddim, now available worldwide from all major digital retailers (released on December 25, 2015), from FOX FUSE. Continuing a rich musical legacy as the son of famed Trinidadian producer and musician Kenny Phillips, and brother of soca hit-maker Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions, Phillips proves his own natural talent with the timeless New Entry Riddim.
“The New Entry Riddim was crafted to showcase the ability of younger talents in the soca industry, who usually get overlooked,” states Phillips. “It was also created to help me, as well as the artists involved, refine our talents. Working on this project gives us a taste of the industry and an understanding of what needs to be done, in order to achieve the recognition for which we are working.”
Boasting five groovy soca jams, the compilation shines a spotlight on other rising talents, including Blair with “Centre Pocket,” Da Reason with “One Gyal For Me,” Sihrrus with “Freedom,” Kendel Haynes with “Priceless” and D’Vibez with “Round De Block.”
The New Entry Riddim was composed for the 2016 Trinidad Carnival season, which is currently underway in Trinidad and Tobago, and now it can be enjoyed by soca lovers across the world. With his stamp branded on the soca scene, fans can also look forward to more classics to come from soca’s newest weapon, Kyle Phillips.
