Kylesa, Oranssi Pazuzu, Machukba and Bosco Sacro announced for A Colossal Weekend 2025

A COLOSSAL WEEKEND adds four more strong acts to the festival, taking place at Vega and Basement in Copenhagen from May 8-10, 2025

Reunited KYLESA are bringing their American sludge rock to the festival, who also adds Finnish heavy psychedelia from ORANSSI PAZUZU, Irish-Ukrainian post-black metal from MACHUKHA and Italien ambient dreamgazers BOSCO SACRO to the lineup. These four new names become part of an already prolific program that includes ELDER, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT, FRAIL BODY, and JO QUAIL, who were announced in September.

It made waves when sludge icons KYLESA announced earlier this year that they were finally reuniting after a yearlong absence, with a series of exclusive reunion shows in the works. One of these shows will be at A Colossal Weekend, marking their first live performance in Denmark in over 10 years.

Finnish ORANSSI PAZUZU has become an institution of well-executed, psychedelic weirdness, embracing elements of black metal, psych rock, math rock, and free jazz. The festival will see an exciting and intense reunion with the band, as they present their new album Muuntautuja, set to release later this week.

The Irish-Ukrainian band MACHUKHA (Ukrainian for ‘stepmother’) is, for most people, an entirely new and unfamiliar act. Their debut album, "Мочарi" [Mochari - Ukranian for 'Stepmother'] utilizes elements of post-black metal, dark hardcore, and punk and explores the human capacity to withstand atrocities and continue surviving day by day. Front person Natalya, who sings exclusively in her native Ukrainian language conveys lyrical and musical narratives reflecting the band’s own journey - allowing oneself to embrace pain and learn how to let go of it, by surrendering to it.

The Italian band BOSCO SACRO is also new, but nonetheless extremely exciting, delivering dreamy ambient doomgaze on their 2023 debut album Gem and already generating significant interest and attention around themselves.

Full festival tickets for A COLOSSAL WEEKEND 2025 cost 970 DKK and can be Purchased HERE.

The daily schedules will be announced at the beginning of 2025, where single-day tickets will also go on sale. More acts will be announced continuously, with the final lineup expected to be ready in early 2025.

For

he 9th time, the Copenhagen festival will bring alternative heavy music to the venues VEGA and Basement at Vesterbro, Copenhagen, Denmark. With an ambitious artistic program that crosses genres, breaks conventions, and focuses on depth and quality, A COLOSSAL WEEKEND aims to create a unique festival celebrating the offbeat and heavy — much of which can't be experienced at other Scandinavian festivals. Over three days from May 8th to 10th 2025, up to 30 different acts from around the world will take the stage at the festival.

A COLOSSAL WEEKEND is a non-profit, independent festival organized in collaboration with VEGA.
