Laura Doggett releases "Moonshine "

Laura Doggett is a 20 year old singer - songwriter from the West Country (Bath).

Songwriting is what sets Laura apart from her peers. Influenced by the classic female singer - songwriters Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell, Laura uses lyrical content to spread a message through her music, encouraging listeners to feel empowered.

She wrote the lyrics for new single, "Moonshine", while still at college, frustrated by the limitations of her music course and the frequent arguments that ensued with her tutor. “It’s about each person’s struggle, and each person’s form of escape,” she says. “Moonshine is that idea for me, that’s my idea of escape. It’s really about the importance of escapism.”

“Moonshine” was BBC Radio 1’s Introducing track, Huw Stephens Record Of The Day and received support from Zane Lowe, Jo Wiley and Mistajam. Laura also performed on Later with Jools Holland and will be performing her own headline show around London.
