Linda Elys & Milow releases "House On Fire"

From the very beginning of her music career, it has been Linda Elys’ goal to share her music with an international audience. The overwhelmingly positive response to her debut single “House On Fire” on streaming platforms and social media — far beyond her native Switzerland — encouraged her to keep pursuing that dream. And sometimes, just when you least expect it, fate gives things a little nudge.

Linda Elys could never have imagined the impact her 2021 performance of Milow’s hit “You Don’t Know” on The Voice of Germany would one day have on her life. Back then, she was still performing under her birth name, Linda Elsener. It was that very performance that would lead their paths to cross again — in a completely unexpected way. Key to this story was also Johannes Oerding, who was a coach on that season of the show and a longtime friend of Milow’s since they appeared together on Sing meinen Song. So moved was Johannes by Linda’s rendition of “You Don’t Know” that he immediately sent the performance to Milow via WhatsApp. Milow, too, was deeply touched, replying that he had rarely heard such an emotional interpretation of his song. Then — nothing happened. For two years.

Until the day Milow stumbled across a song on Spotify called “House On Fire” by an artist named Linda Elys. He couldn’t get the track out of his head. Compelled by the voice, he reached out to Linda via Instagram, telling her how much he loved the song and that it had been on repeat. The two began exchanging messages and stayed in touch. At the time, Linda assumed Milow had already made the connection — that she was the same person who had performed his song on The Voice of Germany, the same performance his friend Johannes had sent him years before. But it took a little while longer before Milow finally realized that Linda Elsener, who covered “You Don’t Know” on national television, and Linda Elys, the voice behind “House On Fire”, were one and the same.

When Linda noticed this, she decided to bring it up — and revealed her identity. According to both, it was a moment full of surprise and laughter. Milow then offered to collaborate, suggesting a songwriting session or even a duet.

Once again, fate intervened in September 2024. Linda was booked to perform at a major open-air radio festival in Switzerland — and as luck would have it, Milow was scheduled to appear as a surprise guest at the same event. When he found out Linda was also performing, he contacted her and suggested they sing “You Don’t Know” together and head to the studio the following day. The chemistry was undeniable. And so, the next day, the two artists met in a Zurich studio — and recorded the captivating duet version of “House On Fire” that now lies before us. A beautiful collaboration between two voices who found each other and discovered mutual artistic respect.

Shortly after, Milow invited Linda to join him as the support act for his 2025 European tour.

The first fruit of this artistic connection is out now: a special duet version of Linda Elys’ hit single “House On Fire”, now reimagined with Belgian singer-songwriter Milow. The original version has already earned Gold status in Switzerland — now, the track opens a new chapter: as a heartfelt duet between two artists who instantly clicked on a musical level.
