After the release of their debut single "Pretty / Scary", the band has returned to the studio to record "Overlord", a track that delves into the dark and oppressive influences in our lives, whether it’s from people who try to control us or the systems that grind us down. The single was recorded at 27D Studios with Steve Hoggart handling production, mixing, and mastering.

This track is part of the band’s ongoing effort to blend vintage and modern hard rock elements, something they’ve been refining since they started in 2019. With its powerful riffs and raw energy, "Overlord" is a continuation of Friday In California's exploration of the themes that resonate with their growing fan base.
