Lulacruza Release Pensar Bonito Video by Vincent Moon

Lulacruza releases new video for their hit ‘Pensar Bonito’ as lead up to full visual album directed by Vincent Moon on Huffington Post.

Lulacruza, Latin America’s acclaimed electro-shamanic band, just released a new video for their hit song ‘Pensar Bonito’. The video is directed by the acclaimed Vincent Moon, who The New York Times refers to as the “prodigious French filmmaker who reinvented the music video.” The ‘Pensar Bonito’ video is the first release in a nine-song visual album titled ‘Esperando el Tsunami’, a followup to their popular 2011 documentary film of the same name. The visual album follows the band as they perform new and favorite songs in ancestral lands throughout Colombia that honor the voices of the country’s diverse landscape.

For the ‘Pensar Bonito’ video, Lulacruza collaborate with various mentors and rising Latin American stars like Teto Ocampo and Jimena Angel. Teto Ocampo is a Colombian legend responsible for a big boom in Colombian music worldwide through his work as a composer/arranger and performer with Grammy-award winning singer Carlos Vives. In the ‘90s he was signed to David Byrne's label Luaka Bop, and, in recent years he has been combining Colombian indigenous music with electronics for his spectacular Mucho Indio project. His daughter, Manuela Ocampo, also sings in the the video.

Jimena Angel is an emerging artist who was recently nominated for "Best Female Pop Album" at the Latin Grammys. Her second, more personal album, Todo Reverdece, was released in 2013, and she is currently working on its followup.

Lulacruza’s full visual album, ‘Esperando el Tsunami’, will be released in early March. It will be followed by the upcoming ‘Orcas’ album, expected to be released in April. ‘Orcas’ will be the group’s fifth album and was mixed and mastered by Nicolas Jaar's sound engineer Vance Galloway. It will be released on The Polish Ambassador's boutique label Jumpsuit Records.

o Lulacruza is an electronic folk duo operating at the junction of the modern and the ancient, blending shamanic and ritualistic influences with folk and electronic music. Lulacruza consists of Alejandra Ortiz from Colombia and Luis Maurette of Argentina.

oo The two met in 2005 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where they bonded over a deep connection with ritual music. They soon formed Lulacruza with Ortiz serving as songbird and playing native instruments from a wide spectrum of cultures, while Maurette complements with electronic processing and sequencing, as well as percussion and charango. For their live show, they recently incorporated Pablo Paz (Argentina) on bass, electronics and percussion.

oo Lulacruza has performed in over 50 cities in 5 countries and are rooted in the transformational and electronic music festival scene in the United States, playing at Lightning in a Bottle, Beloved, Decibel and Chicago World Music Festival. They’ve shared the stage with top musicians such as Thievery Corporation, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Beats Antique, Juana Molina, and Dakha Brakha, to name a few. In 2007, they were chosen as Today’s Top Tune on Jason Bentley’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW.
