Maître Gims releases "Caméléon"

Behind Maître Gims’ legendary black sunglasses there’s not only a multi-award-winning musician and producer, who sold four million records, but also a multi-faceted French artist with roots in today’s Democratic Republic of the Congo. Relocated to France at the age of two and raised in Paris, Gandhi Djuna joined the hip-hop collective Sexion d’Assaut already during his time at the communication and arts college, and reached the German single charts’ Top 20 with the crew’s hit »Désolé« in 2010. Meanwhile known as Maître Gims, he created cover artwork, earned a reputation as one of the best freestylers in France, collaborated on his father’s album, the popular musician Djuna Djanana, and published the comic book »Au coeur du Vortex« (»In the Heart of the Vortex«) in 2012.

2013 saw Maître Gims release his first solo album »Subliminal«, which garnered him worldwide attention with platinum singles such as »J’me tire« and »Bella« and went on to sell one million copies altogether – just like the album successor »Mon cœur avait raison« in 2015. Marking his second entry in the German charts’ premier league, »Loin« achieved #6 in the single charts and announced gold status in 2016. Maître Gims has a unique knack for blending urban pop with French ease as well as Congolese rumba into something that doesn’t only move fans all over Europe, but also audiences on his extremely successful tours across the African continent.

»Caméléon« is the first single from Gims’ upcoming third album, slated for a release in March 2018.
