Maître Gims & Super Sako feat. Hayko - "Mi Gna"

In 2013, Maître Gims releases his first solo album called “Subliminal”, which sells over one million copies with platinum singles such as “J’me tire” and “Bella”. Successor “Mon cœur avait raison” repeats the success in 2015, and already in the following year, Gims cracks the German single charts with gold status and #6 for “Loin”. Following “Caméléon”, the highly anticipated first single from his upcoming new album slated for March, Maître Gimsnow shows his strong remix suit with a track, whose story starts in the Caucasus: “Mi Gna” was originally penned by Armenian composer Artak Aramyan and sung by his popular fellow countryman, singer Spitakci Hayko. Shortly after, L.A.-based DJ and producer Super Sako, hailing from Armenia as well, produced a hip-hop version of the track, which became a massive hit in their home country in early 2017. After the song, whose title translates as “Don’t Go” and desperately implores the big love to stay, remained the unchallenged No.1 in Turkey all summer, Sako licensed his take on “Mi Gna” to a Turkish label, which made the song #1 in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Egypt, and Morocco. Gims, who has a residence in Morocco, heard the song on the radio and recorded his version of the hit right the next day.
