Michaël Brun Shares New Single "Elevate" With Shirazee Ahead Of BAYO

GRAMMY-winning Haitian DJ/producer Michaël Brun is BACK! This time with an upbeat, afro house-leaning dance track called “Elevate” out Friday 5/30. It features friend and former collaborator Shirazee, who was born in West Africa and spent time growing up in Ghana, the UK, South Africa, and France respectively, showcasing his various sonic influences through his own artist project and lending anthemic vocals on the new track. It comes off the heels of Brun’s latest powerhouse collabs, including “Touchdown” with superstar J Balvin featuring dancehall legends Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Tasan, as well as “Safe” with EGOT-winning, critically acclaimed musician John Legend and Haitian sensation Rutshelle Guillaume.

The release will flow perfectly into his biggest BAYO event yet, taking place at the iconic Barclays Center in NYC June 28th - the first arena takeover for Brun’s beloved annual party and headline show to date. For those who aren’t familiar, BAYO (which means “to give” in English) is an annual festival that serves as a celebration of Caribbean culture in all forms (the most recent event bringing in upwards of 8,000 attendees in NYC). It features performances from Brun a suite of special guests / artists in the community and has been a wildly coveted event over the years with SOLD OUT renditions around the globe, including other runs in Montreal, Paris, and Miami.

In other Michael news, he’s been celebrating Haitian Heritage month in the best way, kicking things off with a livestreamed DJ set from a historic Citadel in Haiti now on his YouTube channel, and recently threw the first pitch at the Miami Marlins game to celebrate Haitian Flag Day, where he linked with popular streamer deansocool to IRL stream attending the game and bond over their Haitian roots.

Michaël Brun’s life has been punctuated by a series of resets. When he left Haiti as a teen in the wake of a coup to go to school in the U.S., when he left school to tour the world as an EDM DJ, performing for tens of thousands at festivals and collaborating with the likes of Tiësto and Calvin Harris, when he left that life behind to go back home to Haiti, collaborating with local musicians and mentoring kids, and now, as he prepares to bring the music and culture of Haiti and the diaspora to the world through his music after signing his first major label deal with Astralwerks. Brun has produced multi-platinum records and number one hits, won Grammys, and played Coachella at 20 years old but now, he wants to impact the world. Brun’s new music is a fusion of the cultures he’s encountered in his travels and 2023 will see a new renaissance of his talented sound.
