New single 'Zig Zag' by Komodo
Vintage exotic rock & roll-band KOMODO returns to the scene with the dance floor filling new single. The band turned heads in 2019 with their eponymous debut album. ‘Zig Zag’ is psychedelic afro-disco with a pinch of surf rock. It will be released on October 23th. After a yearlong hiatus filled with lineup changes and songwriting, the band is back with a bang.
“In Zig Zag, the dancefloor is a horror-filmset. This is a metaphor to the destructive side of nightlife; The intoxication of partying itself is as addictive as narcotics are and can be - as I’ve experienced myself - a slippery slope.” - says frontman Tommy Ebben.
The band is known for its great live performances at Dutch festivals such as Noorderslag, Grasnapolsky and Valkhof Festival, as well as at the renowned French festivals Transmusicales in Rennes and Printemps de Bourges. Their debut album was well received internationally and got rave reviews.
Komodo still can’t be pinpointed on a world map. Their psychedelic rock ’n’ roll is rooted in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Yet infused with musical styles and magic spells from all over the world; from desert blues to Indian raga, 60’s surf rock, Arabian tunes and Cuban rumba. One thing is for sure: the catchy songs will make your feet move!
In their home country of The Netherlands, Komodo played some prestigious festivals like Noorderslag and Gransnapolsky, but they played at the famous French festivals Transmusicales de Rennes and Printemps de Bourges too. The band also did a couple of successful little tours in Switzerland, will play a Dutch tour in November and is planning to hit the European roads in 2021.
