Optimus Productions TT Gets Festive with 'Optimus Christmas Vibes Vol. 1'
Trinidad and Tobago-based hit studio Optimus Productions TT gets festive with its timely new compilation Optimus Christmas Vibes Volume 1, now available worldwide from all major digital retailers (released on November 20, 2015), from FOX FUSE. Talented producer Jesse John is at the helm of Optimus Productions TT and is excited to bring this new collection of Trinidadian holiday tunes to the global audience, in time for the Christmas season.
Jesse John and his Optimus Productions TT imprint recently won the Parang Soca of the Year award at the 2015 COTT Music Awards, held in Port of Spain on November 4, 2015. The top prize for parang soca was for Optimus’ popular track “Corn Soup” by Marcia Miranda, on the Parang Fiesta Riddim compilation, which was released for last Christmas season from FOX FUSE.
“It was astonishing to get this award,” John reveals. “Parang music is my culture and I’m known as the Christmas man, as my birthday is December 30.” Besides crafting joyous riddims to celebrate the season each year, he also hands out up to 40 food hampers filled with groceries and staples to families in need, a personal charity he has been conducting for three years now.
Optimus Christmas Vibes Volume 1 is jammed with 13 parang soca anthems, backed by Optimus’ groovy, parang soca rhythm known as the Las Bajos Riddim, which also includes a local choir on the songs. It features soca stunners Crazy, Benjai, Rome, Sir Skarz, Derrick Seales, Del Toro, Preacher, Eddie Charles, Trisha Hamilton, Leon Coldero, Impulse and Philman. The compilation brings classic parang vibes, which is a blend of native African, local calypso and soca, fused with tropical Spanish flavors inherited from Venezuelan migrants, and is a must-have for a traditional Trinidadian Christmas.
Optimus Productions TT was founded in 2013 and is based in San Fernando, in Trinidad and Tobago. Producer Jesse John creates all genres but his primary focus is on native Trinidadian sounds, and those influences can be heard in all his releases, especially on the traditional parang soca flavors of the Optimus Christmas Vibes Volume 1.
