Funk Tribu introduces his new audio visual concept - introspecting with 'reborn (alma)'

Funk Tribu returns with reborn (alma), the first single taken from his upcoming project LIFE, landing 29th May via his own label, TRIBE.

Structured as a movement across soul (alma), mind (mente) and body (cuerpo), LIFE unfolds across three connected releases throughout the summer, culminating in the full EP release on 7th August.

Over the past few years, the Bogotá-born, Berlin-based producer has moved through a constant state of motion. What started with Phonky Tribu (100M streams) quickly expanded into worldwide touring, visibility and demand taking him from a bedroom in Engativá to stages like Tomorrowland, Awakenings, EDC Vegas and Boiler Room, alongside a debut album (Against All Odds) that cemented him at the forefront of the new wave of trance-influenced electronic music.

Alongside this, he launched TRIBE, a label and creative platform that has quickly grown into a wider community orbiting around emotionally driven club music and collective experience. Shortly after the label launch, he returned home to Colombia where he was awarded the Nota de Estilo in recognition of his cultural impact, just days before selling out the first two TRIBE arena shows in Bogotá.

LIFE is the next chapter and emerges from the moment where that rhythm stopped feeling right.

Written during an intense stretch of touring, the project reflects the point where something had to change in maintaining that level of output. Not as a collapse, but more a realisation that even within growth, there are limits.

Let’s talk about this.

Rather than pushing further outward, LIFE turns inward. Not slowing down, but becoming more deliberate, pushing against the idea that more is always better. The three tracks follow that movement but each take it somewhere different.

reborn (alma) introduces this and opens in a more introspective space, closer to that initial reset. Sonically, it leans into a more expansive and euphoric atmosphere, built around vocal-led moments and a full emotional release that sits somewhere between vulnerability and surrender.

LIFE sits in that space between momentum and its consequences.

Alongside the music, reborn (alma) arrives with the first visual chapter of the project.

For the alma chapter, Eduardo is placed inside a highly controlled, almost sacred environment, a stripped-back brutalist sanctuary designed to externalise what it feels like to experience music internally.

The room becomes an installation, moving between nature, sound and performance as emotion and identity begin to blur together. Concrete structures sit against moss, tropical plants and organic textures, grounding the project’s futuristic aesthetic in something more instinctive.

Transitions between this inner world and fragments of touring and live performance happen through his own senses, stretching and warping the image between realities. A recurring motif throughout the film is the body as a vessel for sound as eyes ripple like subwoofers, cymatic textures vibrate through space and music becomes impossible to separate from self.

Looking forward to the full release this August, the project will be celebrated with an exclusive release event and screening in Berlin at Studio 1111 on 6th August, where the music and visuals come together in a shared space. It begins more contained, before opening out into a wider crowd, bringing together the TRIBE community alongside those who’ve followed the project from the start.

LIFE doesn’t document a rise. It captures the point where continuation requires change.
