OUT NOW: Jacques Greene Releases "Closer" with DJ BORING via LUCKYME®

Montreal artist Jacques Greene has released a new single titled “Closer,” a collaboration with the Melbourne-raised, London-based DJ BORING. The track is out now via LUCKYME.

Preceded by “What You Say,” with labelmate umru, “Closer” is the second of two consecutive dancefloor-focused singles from Greene so far in 2026.

Reflecting on his close relationships with his collaborators and how it affects his current sound, Greene had the following to say: “Tristan [DJ Boring] is one of those people I feel so delighted to spot on a lineup of an event I’ll be at. The guy just radiates good energy. We made this tune at his studio in London a couple years ago. No time to waste, we start essentially halfway through a buildup. It feels like hanging out with the man himself, consistently fun, engaging, and a bit silly. Where there’s a will there’s a way, and if you need cheering up, find yourself an Australian like BORING. And keep him close.”

Montreal-born producer Jacques Greene has been making effervescent dance music for over fifteen years. Since his breakthrough hit “Another Girl”, and over the course of multiple EPs, singles, and two full-length albums — 2017’s Feel Infinite and 2019’s Dawn Chorus — Greene has developed a sound designed to inject a heart-on-sleeve poignancy to dancefloors across the world. His 2025 collaboration with labelmate Nosaj Thing, Verses GT, was a project about “betting on headspace”: like the memory of a club record, tumbling drums are obscured under layers of haze and stuttering sequences.

Outside of his own releases, Greene has explored his relationship with the club in a variety of contexts, from the collaboration with Bonobo on “Fold”, to remixing Radiohead, to producing for Jessy Lanza, Tinashe, and touring with The xx.
