Phoebe Green shares new single 'Polluting You With Me', new album PREMATURE NOSTALGIA out 2nd October

 Manchester's Phoebe Green today shares new single 'Polluting You With Me', the second preview of her newly announced album PREMATURE NOSTALGIA, out 2nd October via The Green Dream Machine / Absolute.

Following last month's single 'There's Always Someone Kicking The Seat', Phoebe has announced she will mark the release of the new album with a headline show at Rough Trade East in London on 6th October.

Driven by ominous synths and warped electronic production from Phoebe and her sister Lucy Green, 'Polluting You With Me' explores the often imperceptible ways people begin to shape one another. Beneath its dark electronic textures, Phoebe portrays intimacy as a force that slowly blurs the boundaries between two people.

Speaking on the new single release, Phoebe shared:

"I think consuming and being consumed by something or someone has become quite a theme in my writing, I’m not the most laidback individual and I really felt the need to go all in on this song like the little creep I am. It’s a metaphor that doesn’t get old for me because I feel it so deeply, I’m not the best when it comes to moderation in any sense of the word, but I find it really fascinating how people can bleed into each other in really subtle yet permanent ways without realising, like suddenly using the same vocabulary or exhibiting the same mannerisms or associating a colour or a song with a specific person and knowing that you likely will for the rest of your life. Lucy’s synths and samples on this one absolutely blow me away every time, I love the contrast between the verses and choruses and how the intensity and dynamics shift in the way that relationships do."

Written and produced alongside her sister Lucy Green (aka Elucyve) - a producer of contemporary classical and electronic music in her own right - PREMATURE NOSTALGIA was created between the flat the pair share in Manchester and their parents' home in Lytham St Annes.

Across the album, Phoebe and Lucy draw inspiration from artists such as Imogen Heap, Oklou, Jockstrap, James Blake, FKA twigs and Sega Bodega - embracing warped electronics, fragmented structures and experimental forms of pop songwriting.

Speaking about the album, Phoebe said: "‘PREMATURE NOSTALGIA’ explores the feeling of missing a moment before it’s over, grieving the present in real time and trying to retain every detail of an encounter so that the memory is always intact and in full colour. My sister Lucy and I composed, produced and recorded this album in our flat in Manchester, it holds such sentimental value and is a real amalgamation of both of our influences, perspectives and individual style; dreamy, heavy, dramatic synths and confessional lyrics that document the beautiful and messy experience of living."

A darker and more enigmatic companion to 2025 EP The Container and her acclaimed debut album Lucky Me, new album PREMATURE NOSTALGIA also features collaborations with Picture Parlour’s Katherine Parlour and incorporates field recordings and metallic textures pulled directly from Manchester’s industrial landscape and club culture.

Throughout, the album remains rooted in the bond between Phoebe and Lucy - sisters, collaborators and proud adopted Mancunians navigating the realities of independent artistry together.

Over the past decade, Phoebe Green has become one of UK alternative pop’s most distinctive voices. Alongside collaborations with Swim Deep, The Big Moon, Holiday87 and Scout, her music has featured in Killing Eve and most recently on the soundtrack to 2026 film Finding Emily - while recent work alongside Lucy has also seen the pair take their first major step into soundtrack composition.
