HEARTS APART: “(Not) So Easy" is the new single, new album announcement and preorder.
Accepting that someone you loved can move on with their life without you is not easy. Actually, fuck no. HEARTS APART return with “(Not) So Easy”, the new single from their upcoming album Xanax, Dramas & Rock’n’roll, out November 20, 2026 via Epidemic Records.
Some relationships end and some people, at least officially, leave our lives. Then all it takes is a picture, a short video appearing almost by accident, a few seconds capable of dragging the past straight back into the present - and suddenly everything you thought you had buried comes rushing back to the surface.
That exact moment is where “(Not) So Easy”, the new single from Hearts Apart, begins.

Once again, the Vicenza four-piece turn anxiety, vulnerability and frustration into urgent, melodic punk rock, where nervous guitars and an immediate chorus collide with something far harder to deal with: accepting that someone you certainly loved - and probably still love - has decided to continue their journey without you.
There is no romantic celebration of suffering here. Instead, “(Not) So Easy” is about the confused, painful attempt to make it through without allowing loss to turn into possession: living with questions that will never be answered, holding back words that no longer have a recipient, trying to punch your way through the horror of possessiveness while your memory stubbornly keeps dragging you back to the same places.
Hearts Apart explain:
“‘Not So Easy’ perfectly describes the enormous effort it takes to accept that someone you definitely loved - and probably still love - has decided to continue their journey without you.
Then you happen to see a short video of the person you lost somewhere along the way, and suddenly the ground opens beneath your feet.
Punching the horror of possessiveness in the face, keeping all the questions and outbursts to yourself, screaming your longing into the valley of memories, clinging to the fragile hope that ‘things will get better.’
Easy to get through it? Fuck no.”
Behind that brutal final line lies much of what Hearts Apart are about: real emotions told without feeling the need to clean them up, hide them or make them more dignified than they actually are. You can be an adult, understand perfectly well how acceptance is supposed to work and still find yourself completely unprepared when the past decides to come knocking again.
“(Not) So Easy” channels that contradiction through the musical language the band have built over the years: punk rock, power pop, garage and bruised emo instincts condensed into songs constantly searching for a meeting point between melody and discomfort, energy and vulnerability.
The same tension runs throughout ** Xanax, Dramas & Rock’n’roll **, Hearts Apart’s fourth studio effort, out November 20, 2026 via Epidemic Records. Across twelve songs, anxiety, desire, depression, boredom, relationships, compulsions and the absurdities of everyday life are thrown into songs designed to make you do exactly the opposite of what those feelings might suggest: move, sing and scream a chorus alongside somebody else.
Alongside the release of “(Not) So Easy”, pre-orders for Xanax, Dramas & Rock’n’roll are now open. The album will also be available as an elegant limited edition of just 300 copies on coloured vinyl.

Formed in the summer of 2018 by friends old enough to know the disappointments of adulthood but still sufficiently in love with punk rock to consider the Marked Men a way of life, Hearts Apart have gradually turned enthusiasm, inadequacy and despair into a musical language of their own.
Following their debut EP ** Number One To No One ** in 2021, ** Bang! Wrong Again ** and the subsequent merging of the two releases into a single LP, the band released the ** Summer Bummer ** EP via Epidemic Records in February 2025. Born from the wreckage of a relationship, those songs were subsequently carried across Europe through dozens of live shows.
Now Checco, Giò, Punch and Silva are opening a new chapter.
Recorded and mixed by Marco Degli Esposti at Happenstance Recording Studio and mastered by Maurizio “Icio” Baggio at La Distilleria Produzioni Musicali, Xanax, Dramas & Rock’n’roll pushes even further into the contradiction Hearts Apart seem to have chosen as their natural habitat: sadness against melody, paralysis against movement, grown-up damage against the stubborn teenage conviction that three chords and a great chorus might still save the night.
