QUIX teams up with CORTR on “Waiting For The Day” feat. Kyle Reynolds [Dim Mak}
After busting speakers worldwide with his previous Dim Mak single, “Pompeii,” Quix returns to the famed imprint on “Waiting For The Day,’ a collaboration with fellow New Zealand-bred producer CORTR and featuring the voice of singer/songwriter/producer Kyle Reynolds.
On “Waiting For The Day,” the three artists present a vulnerable yet powerful story of lost love that combines emotional lyrics and a strong vocal delivery with an explosive drop that radiates an incredible energy.
"CORTR originally sent me stems to this idea back in early 2020 when I was packing up my apartment in LA to leave for NZ due to COVID. Over the last two years, the song has devolved into different versions, drops, and ideas, and finally with the blessing from this amazing vocal by Kyle Reynolds the song has come to completion! His vocal is so catchy, the lead line from the drop constantly gets stuck in my head. Both CORTR and I come from your classic “punk rock” background and we both wanted to show power and emotion in this song, from the drastic chord changes and the lead melody which is influenced by Flume," QUIX says about the song.
