Robbing Millions: video for "8 is the figure..." premiers on Blackbook

“Unlike anything we've heard in quite some time! Damn.” (The 405) was just one of many quotes on Robbing Millions’s brilliant EP ‘Lonely Carnivore’ (2014). Today, Lucien Fraipont and his gang present a first track from their upcoming debut album, a collaboration with Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, ...).

‘8 is the Figure that I Like the Most’ starts out gently with a sweet breeze of unsuspecting keys and dream-pop vocals, soon to be violently harassed by a true warfare of Congolese cocotte guitars, distorted kalimba’s, Bill Frisell-esque guitar melodies and a Syrian scale inspired synth-theme. All of which Robbing Millions effortlessly blend into a beautiful and inventively crafted psych pop-song.

The video, directed by Belgium’s rising star Marine Dricot, is a hilarious and quite disturbing take on playing tag, zooming in on two freaks whose obsession for the number ‘8’ gradually transforms into a complete crazyfest, culminating into the funniest video finale you’ll see this year. Do you eight me?!

Robbing Millions debut album is set for release on August 26th through [PIAS].
