Manchester-based transatlantic duo samxemma today release new single 'HE’S SO GROSS' - a blown-out, 4D-pop banger with enough snarl and scorched-earth attitude to destroy timelines and dancefloors alike. basslines with crystalline pop vocals, 'HE'S SO GROSS' is a high-gloss, unapologetic callout built on Sam’s punchiest, danciest production yet and led by Emma's laser-sharp delivery and venomous one-liners (“He's just a man / I wanna run over him with the Bentley that he rents”)

On the release of 'HE'S SO GROSS', Emma said: "My friend was seeing some guy from her gym who gave her all these extravagant gifts, only to find out he’s married with 3 daughters. He was short and ugly too. HE’S SO GROSS is about most men I’ve interacted with. The good ones get it."

Titled with tongue firmly in cheek, new EP 'HOT PEOPLE MAKE HOT MUSIC' is the sound of two artists pushing DIY pop to its limits. Formed between Northampton (Sam) and Santa Barbara (Emma), now based in Manchester, samxemma (pronounced sam-times-emma) write songs that feel like group chats on fire - confessional, caustic, forever 20 seconds from chaos.

The EP moves through lust, infidelity, burnout and girlhood trauma with glittered precision. It’s pop in form, rave in function - powered by Emma’s diaristic lyrics and Sam’s genre-agnostic, club-ready productions (drawing from Skrillex, Porter Robinson, Pluko, and a whole lot of late-night YouTube black holes). The duo’s chemistry is palpable: not just collaborators, but co-conspirators in a world of their own.

samxemma have already made notable early steps: selling out a headline show at YES Manchester, being selected as a ReBalance artist by Festival Republic, performing at The Great Escape, Latitude Festival, Beyond The Music and Kendal Calling, and earning key editorial support from Spotify (Hyperpop, New Pop UK, Planet Rave, NMF) following the release of their self-released 2023 debut EP 'Athens'.
