Sasha Keable releases "act right"
Written during the aftermath of a deeply painful breakup, the seven-track project act right sees the South London singer move through unfiltered rage and despair while ultimately landing in a tender place of compassion and self-love. ‘This project comes from a place of betrayal and heartbreak’ she says. Sonically, it’s richly soulful, with nostalgic R&B stylings and a sharp feature from Jamaican-born US rapper Beam, but ultimately it’s Sasha’s spellbinding vocals that make act right project pack such a visceral punch. This year’s biggest R&B breakout star Leon Thomas is the only other feature on the project on Move It Along, co-written with Sasha Keable. Leon has been a huge supporter of Sasha, shouting her out on BBC Radio 1 Future Sounds with Sian Eleri.
Having just performed at Meltdown (curated by friend Little Simz), R&B festival Once Upon A Time In Joburg and SXSW to an oversubscribed show and Glastonbury, fan demand is massive to see her live.
act right marks the first full project from Sasha 2.0: wiser, rawer and stronger than ever before. ‘I felt like if I didn’t make this music I might lose my mind’ she says. ‘I made this project for myself, it’s exactly what I needed.’

These exciting new announcements come after the fiery “FEEL SOMETHING” which dropped last month. Full of metaphor and powerful imagery, “FEEL SOMETHING” saw Sasha in the heat of her rage. Written late at night during a songwriting session in Tennessee with Grammy winning producer Taylor Hill and hotly tipped Florida artist P90Pope, Sasha ‘needed to say what I needed to say.’ She was so clear on the message that the song was written in less than two hours. She deftly juxtaposes a choral arrangement (made beautifully from her own layered vocals) with swaggering verses that transplant the listener into a car crash of fiery toxicity that is a destructive relationship.
“FEEL SOMETHING” follows on from the unyielding title track “act right”, which just last week she performed on the hallowed stage of Later With Jools Holland.
In late February, Sasha sold-out the Deaf Institute and the legendary Koko, the latter sold-out in under 48 hours with Ezra Collective coming out to perform “Body Language” which of course features Sasha.
Just before her huge single “Take Your Time” ft. 6lack, Sasha was co-signed by Beyoncé - naming Sasha as an artist who inspires her. A massive moment for the young singer-songwriter.
With roots in R&B and Soul, Sasha was raised on a musical diet including, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Mary J Blige, & her Colombian roots of Cumbia & Vallenatos played a significant role in moulding her into the artist she is today.
Now at 400k followers across IG and Tik Tok, achieving 70m total streams, sold-out her winter UK & European tour, attended the BFAs in a custom dress by ASOS, performing with Ezra Collective at Radio 6’s music festival, walked in London Fashion Week and performed at Ezra Collective’s BRITs afterparty, Sasha has no plans to slow down.
Sasha Keable is performing at Pukkelpop next Sunday August 17th!
