Single out now: Emma Kok "Laissez-Moi"

Electrola has signed 18-year-old Emma Kok, one of Europe’s most outstanding young musical talents. The Dutch singer has captivated audiences worldwide with her rendition of “Voilà”, generating over 120 million views on YouTube and earning a Diamond Award for the song. Following a world tour with André Rieu, she embarked on her first headlining theatre tour, with 28 sold-out shows across the Netherlands. Emma also impressed on “Stars on Stage”, one of the Netherlands’ major television shows, finishing second in the final.

Emma won the Dutch edition of “The Voice Kids” in 2021, followed by “Ministars” in 2023. That same year, at just 15, she performed at André Rieu’s concerts in Maastricht. Her rendition of Barbara Pravi’s “Voilà” brought her international recognition.

Leonard Prasuhn (Vice President A&R, Electrola/Better Now Records):

“Working with Emma Kok is a true privilege. We have been in conversation since the moment ‘Voilà’ went globally viral, and it has been remarkable to witness her artistic development ever since. Emma is an extraordinary young talent with a truly distinctive voice, a deep emotional connection to music, and a rare ability to move people across languages, genres and borders. The way she brings together the classical world and contemporary pop feels completely natural and genuinely unique. What makes her even more inspiring is the strength and confidence with which she faces her health challenges, never allowing them to hold her back, instead letting her artistry, personality and voice shine even brighter. We believe Emma has an incredible global journey ahead of her, and we are very excited to help shape the next chapter of her career together.”

Emma also fills concert halls in her own right: both of her 2025 concerts at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw sold out within hours. In German-speaking markets, her joint performance of “Voilà” with Helene Fischer reached a large television audience, with its online reach reflected in almost 20 million YouTube views.

“Never Lose Hope” is Emma’s personal mantra. She has lived since birth with gastroparesis, a rare condition involving paralysis of the stomach. Emma speaks openly about it but refuses to be defined by her illness. For her, hope is an outlook she embraces every day. This lends her performances an authenticity that goes far beyond her extraordinary voice.

Through her foundation, Gastrostars, she advocates for others living with the condition and supports research. In her book, “Emma – Never Lose Hope”, she shares personal insights into her journey.

“Laissez-Moi”, her first single with Universal Music label Electrola, is out now.

Dirk Geibel (Vice President Marketing, Electrola/Better Now Records):

“Emma is an exceptional talent and has already demonstrated an impressive ability to captivate audiences worldwide, across genres and demographics. Her deeply moving single ‘Laissez-moi’ will mark the musical launch of our partnership in November, as we work towards an album release in the following year. We are incredibly excited to support and help shape Emma’s career over the long term, together with her and her team.”
