Sleepwave streams new album

Sleepwave is the new band from former Underoath singer Spencer Chamberlain, featuring band mate Stephen Bowman. Their debut album Broken Compass is out on September 15 via Epitaph Records, but they are sharing it in full HERE.

Chamberlain and Bowman gravitated toward one another several years ago, based on their mutual appreciation of bands like Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Filter. Broken Compass was produced by David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men, All Time Low) and it combines their mutual interests as they deliver the grungy side of rock music through the lens of classic song structure and melody. Sleepwave cuts through the white noise of sound-a-like charlatans like a dull knife. Broken Compass, speaks truth to power by bucking trends and digging deeply with a creative determination all too lacking today.

With Chamberlain at the helm, he states, “Sleepwave is heavy and aggressive, but there’s a lot more to explore....There’s a somber overtone to the album, there’s a lot of sadness, but there is also some hope. Not everyone will love Sleepwave...but if you are upsetting people, they're still responding emotionally all the same.”
