The Entrepreneurs Rock Out New Single “Heroine” Live in Session!
The Entrepreneurs’ new single from their forthcoming debut album Noise & Romanceis presented with a live-session showing the trio’s exceptional flair for performing live in a dark and aesthetic setting.
“Heroine” is a 6-minute noise-rock anthem recorded in an intense 24 hour studio session with producer Jens Ramon (Figurines, The New Spring etc.) and later mixed by Nis Bysted (Iceage, Blaue Blume, Cancer etc.) and Jens Ramon.
A smouldering intro leads the track into a killer guitar riff setting the tone of an instant alt-rock classic from The Entrepreneurs. The guitars are distorted and the drums are distinctive as the track breaks and picks up again leading to a second pinnacle.
“With this track coming together we really felt like we hit the nerve of what we wanted our album to sound like. It was a first time for us creating a long intro like this and the way it came together put a new perspective on all our recordings going forward.”lead singer Mathias Bertelsen explains and continues on theme of song:
“It’s about addiction in the way of being addicted to a woman - seeing her as a heroine totally blind to her flaws and errors.”
The Copenhagen-based trio enjoy a reputation as one of the fiercest live bands in their native Denmark, and with their debut album they're ready to take on the world. Their noisy songs are aesthetically rich and experimental variations on some rock’s most significant subgenres like punk, grunge, post-rock — always performed with an underlying dark and explosive feel.
After releasing their debut EP Tony Romingerin 2016 lead singer and guitarist Mathias Bertelsen, bass player Anders Hvass, and drummer Jonas Wetterslev manifested themselves as an amazing live band. They feed of the crowd and returns the favour by giving explosive performances every time.
The Entrepreneurs recently signed with Copenhagen-based label Tambourhinoceros (Palace Winter, Pardans, Molina etc.) and are set to release their debut album aptly titled Noise & Romance in February 1st 2019. Today they reveal the new single Joaquin, the first taste of what will be an uncompromising release from the young trio. Joaquin is a playful track with both powerful riffs, high-tempo beats, laid-back parts, distorted guitars, melodic bass lines, and fingerpicking guitars.
"The lyrics are all about breaking free from everything holding you back, and about those who are not breaking free from these bounds. All in all it’s a playful, naive and energetic track with heavy notes of nostalgia both lyrically and musically", bass player Anders Hvass explains.
When listening to the new music by The Entrepreneurs it becomes apparent how the band are inspired by many different artists including Sonic Youth,Deftones, and Jeff Buckley to mention a few.
