The great live album by ELLESMERE: Mere, On Stage! fri 11th july

AMS Records is pleased to release an amazing live album, a precious document that testifies to the state of health of Italian progressive-rock and one of its best bands: Mere, on stage! by Ellesmere.

It is not the first live album by the band led by Roberto Vitelli: after Wyrd (2019), Ellesmere released the double album Livesmere (2022). Now, on the occasion of their concert at the three-day festival Porretta Prog Legacy (which will also feature Alphataurus, another great band of AMS), Ellesmere comes back with a powerful live album dating back to 2024. Mere, on stage! in fact it was recorded during the 2024 edition of Prog & Frogs festival, several world-famous guests were invited by the mastermind Vitelli: alongside him John Wilkinson (vocals), David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator - saxophone) and Maurizio Guarini (Goblin - keyboards), as well as Giacomo Anselmi (guitar), Fabio Bonuglia (keyboards) and Diego Bertocci (drums).

With the exception of the first album Les Châteaux de la Loire, with its folk and acoustic coordinates, since the second From Sea and Beyond the Ellesmere project has profoundly changed its stylistic form, towards a symphonic and modern prog-rock, often bordering on hard rock, a change also possible thanks to numerous world-famous guests involved by Roberto. The impact of the live songs is inevitably even more powerful on stage, especially in the second part of the concert, the one in which the longer and more complex compositions always prove to be captivating and engaging. To complete this release, Roberto Vitelli has decided to include an additional song recorded in the studio, a revisitation of the historic Broken Barricades by Procol Harum, the first ever cover version of Ellesmere.
