Thomas Carlsen's Transmission (Nor) - Clockwork Sky [Heavy Metal]

«Clockwork Sky» is the upcoming sophomore LP from Thomas Carlsen’s Transmission, the Melodic Heavy Metal powerhouse from Norway. Picking up where «A Brave Horizon» left off, Thomas takes us on yet another sonic journey, each track being based around main theme; the relentless passage of Time.

Carlsen says; «I was unsure of what direction Transmission would take after ‘A Brave Horizon’, which was a blend of several different styles. The writing sessions for ‘Clockwork Sky’ resulted in my most anthemic and hooky tunes yet. It blends the arena rock of the 80s with modern-age Power Metal, in a big way. And - as I evolve as a songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, I couldn’t help but add some new elements to the music.»

For the new record, Carlsen recruited four different vocalists to complement his new songs. Sebastian Palma (Blizzard Hunter), Atli Guðlaugsson (Power Paladin) and Arnaud Ménard (Ecclesia) return after performing on ‘A Brave Horizon’, and Greek powerhouse Mike Livas (Silent Winter) makes his first appearance on the power ballad ‘One with the Storm’. All instrumental performances, as well as mixing duties were handled by Carlsen himself. Norwegian graphic designer Mina Lynum returns with yet another stunning artwork to adorn the album cover.

"Clockwork Sky" is out June 6th on Compact Disc and all streaming services. The singles, "Midnight Queen", "Thunderbird" and "One with the Storm" give listeners a look into the different soundscapes explored on the album, but Carlsen promises a couple of surprises to be found on the full release: "It was hard to decide on the singles, because so many of the tracks have that potential. The only thing left to do now is unleash the entire thing on the world. I have never been this stoked about a release before!" From the shred-fest of the lead single, through the 80s arena-chorus of ‘One with the Storm’, to the cinematic theme of the title track, «Clockwork Sky» is sure to satisfy your Heavy Metal cravings, and more.
