Toronto psych-rock artist Rise Carmine's first single, 'Sadistic', off upcoming EP

Sadistic is the first song off of Rise Carmine’s upcoming EP “Under The Red Light - Side A”, part of a hotly anticipated LP to be released in summer 2024.

With a distinct electro-rock influence in the vein of groups like Royal Blood, Radiohead and LCD Sound System, Rise Carmine AKA Liam Colbert’s new tracks have been made with one thing in mind - that is a desire to make rock music danceable.

In Sadistic (I Like It Too), Colbert effectively uses the repetition of a hypnotic drum groove and his signature driving bass lines to take the listener on a journey. Weaving scenes like a short film the sound moves from triumphant and snarling, to sweet and ethereal.

The song’s message is simple. To experience life, one must go out and live it. “You can’t stay home / if no one will take you out I’ll be there”, is a message to the man in the mirror. Sadistic (I Like It Too) is an antidote to a certain brand of self-sabotage, one in which we are too paralyzed to enjoy the present out of fear of what those decisions might mean for our future
