Trap icon & supreme tastemaker UZ releases new single & music video for “Bang Bang”

There’s always been a lot of mystery surrounding famed DJ/producer/turntablist UZ. Aesthetically, the striking image of a masked rebel presiding over a crowd is extraordinarily powerful. However, the man behind the mask is quite simply one of the most talented artists on the planet. He’s long been a pioneer on the trap music scene and his Quality Goods Records imprint has built a reputation for bringing “the goods” time and again. Further peeling back UZ’s layers to the core and we arrive at the artist's original moniker, DJ Troubl’. A two-time DMC-Champ DJ and winner of numerous international DJ competitions, the French artists’ skills are unmatched and transcend musical genres. On the credibility scale, UZ is off the charts.

Just in time for the dog days of summer, UZ is back with his new trap single “Bang Bang;” out now on his own Quality Goods Records imprint. “Bang Bang” is an exercise in contrasts; commencing with a layer of synths that hypnotize and draw the listener in before a stabbing drum pattern emerges to create a trap masterpiece. And for the first time ever, UZ recorded himself scratching on a track. “Bang Bang” joins a massive catalog of UZ’s legendary singles and follows his June 2019 collaboration with HUCCI titled “Awakening.”

Alongside the release of the single comes a music video for “Bang Bang.” Edited with distorted viewpoints and colorful morphing visuals, the video proves to be just as cryptic and trippy as the song, and follows UZ around a night out in Hollywood. UZ even makes an quick DJ set appearance in the video, which shows off his live scratching to the track.

Aspiring producers will soon have access to the monumental sounds that helped build “Bang Bang,” as UZ has teamed up with Splice for UZ's Real Trap Samples Vol. 2, which includes almost all of the sounds used to create the new single. The pack will be out on September 2nd. UZ’s Vol. 1 Splice sample pack soared on their sales charts, garnering over 1,250,000 user credits, and falling at #14 on their all-time charts. Splice is the digital music platform evolving the way people create, connect, and collaborate. Splice’s marketplace makes finding one-shots, loops, MIDI files, and presets across all genres effortless. It’s the only platform offering the option to rent-to-own music software like Serum and Studio One for a low monthly fee. From chart-topping artists to bedroom beat makers, creators of all kinds use Splice to create Grammy-winning songs, movie scores, club hits, and more.

Quality Goods Records (QGR) was founded by UZ in 2016 with the intention to dish out more exhilarating trap music from a new variety of artists. Since his 2012 emergence, UZ has totaled up seven years in the game making him a widely renowned trap founding father with an unbreakable fandom. With official remixes for Flosstradamus, Zeds Dead, 12th Planet, Ice Cube and more under his belt, it is without question that UZ’s musical talents sit amongst the greats.

UZ’s sounds are sought out globally as he continually performs at the most notable international festivals such as Coachella, Sonar, Ultra, Stereosonic, and EDC. He’s also bringing his Quality Goods Label on the road with global showcases. Most recently, in July, UZ and his stable of artists took over New York City with a special Quality Good Boat Party.
