Vivienne unveils new single/video 'Unwanted' ⋆+ ̊
Her songs carry the melancholy and fire of the diaries she's been keeping since childhood. Writing and composing with an open heart, Vivienne turns solitude and memory into wistful melodies that drift between ethereal folk and dreamy grunge. It started with just her and her guitar, alone in the quiet intimacy of her bedroom. After years spent exploring Lille's alternative music scene, playing in various bands, Vivienne is now finding her own voice and telling her story on her own terms. She blends instinctive and poetic songwriting in English with a sound tinged with the spirit of the '90s.
With 'With The Nights', a ballad released in 2024, Vivienne opened the door to her own secret world. In 2025, she asserted herself with Ashes, a self-produced five-track debut EP. Today, she returns with 'Unwanted', the first single taken from her second EP out in 2027.
Written during a period of heartbreak and disillusionment, "Unwanted" captures the feeling of never quite finding your place, either personally or artistically. Caught between silence, rejection, and the longing to be recognized, Vivienne explains: "The song is about feeling like things are unfair, trying not to show your wounds when all you really need is to be heard. I've often felt like I was putting all my energy into proving myself, constantly working on myself, trying to meet other people's needs, expectations, and desires." With her guitar, she turns this vulnerability into a form of release, shifting between raw melancholy and grunge-fueled outbursts. Artists such as Blondshell, Hana Eid, and Girlpuppy inform her intimate songwriting, where personal wounds become fertile ground for a deeply emotive strain of indie rock, one in which fragility and intensity go hand in hand.
