It would be an understatement to simply say „Mark Forster is back“, as he hasn’t really been away at all. And after the rather bombastic success of his hit single “Au Revoir” (with Felix Jaehn and selling 900.000 units and awarded with the German “Autorenpreis” award), the album success of “Bauch und Kopf”, not to forget the first number one hit as part of EFF, it would be hard to imagine a German music scene without him. Just like Udo Linderberg, who is nicknamed ‘Germany’s most famous hat’, Mark Forster is well on the way to become not only one of the most brilliant songwriters but the country’s ‘most famous peaked cap’.

The first single “Wir sind groß” sets the general tone, a song that again has a kind of awaking as its central theme. But unlike “Au Revoir” it’s not about escaping from the dreariness of everyday life, it’s a joyful scream at the beginning of a long night, an ode to friendship that thematically outlines the direction for the other tracks. The spng is #1 airplay in Germany at this moment and the single is platinum!

Forster worked with Hip Hop producers for the first time. Together they managed to translate Forsters artistic vision of brass, gospel elements and – as he himself puts it – “concrete strings” – into a vital and contemporary shape, that pays homage to Hip Hop and Pop alike, as well as their and their origins.
