Zodiac releases Grain Of Soul

Youre an animal driven by desire, raunt es uns auf Animal entgegen, einer dieser typischen, treibenden Riff-Rock-Nummern zwischen obszön entspanntem Wüstensound und absoluter Süffigkeit, wie sie Zodiac meisterlich beherrschen. Animalistisch fesselnd kommt Grain Of Soul, der vierte Longplayer der Deutschen, allemal daher und ist obendrein das bislang fokussierteste Werk des Vierers, der sich hier endgültig freischwimmt. Es wurde von Arne Neurand (Guano Apes, Subway To Sally, Revolverheld) im Horus Sound Studio in Hannover aufgenommen und gemischt. Das Mastering übernahm der Grammy-prämierte Jean-Pierre Chalbos (u.a. Gojira) im La Source Mastering in Paris. Eindrucksvolles Namedropping, das allerdings nur die Kulisse stellt für ein ausgereiftes Rock-Manifest, das im Stoner, Grunge, Alternative und Heavy Rock wildert, um sich am Ende nur einem zu unterwerfen: zeitlosen Songs mit Melodien größer als jeder Horizont!

Grain Of Soul the fourth full length album by the riff-laden German rock fourpiece Zodiac, is their most graciously focused effort to date, between the obscenely relaxed desert guitar sounds and melodies bigger than the horizon, Zodiac have triumphed upon their return. Recorded, mixed, and produced by Arne Neurand (Guano Apes, etc.) at Horus Sound Studio in Hannover, and mastered by Grammy Award winning Jean-Pierre Chalbos (Gojira, etc) at La Source Mastering in Paris, the backdrop for this mature rock manifesto flirts heavily within the multiple genres of hard rock, from stoner, to grunge, to alternative, Grain Of Soul ultimately succumbs to one thing only: a timeless collection of songs from a band that seem to have found their ultimate artistic freedom.
