Andead, punk rock band founded in 2007 in Milan, Italy, have released their new single "#DEFEND" on all streaming platforms & digital stores. Debuted at the "Amnesty In Rock 6" event, the song's proceeds will be donated to Amnesty International Italy.

The song embodies what Amnesty International's activists carry out every day: they defend human rights through direct action and complete communication campaigns aimed at raising awareness.

Andrea Rock, songwriter for Andead and activist for Amnesty International, explains: "Ever since I joined Amnesty I have learned to see the world through different eyes, the eyes of those who don't have a voice, who aren't represented in newspapers, who live in countries too far away for us Westerners to understand the terrible conditions they live in."

During these times of special attention for migrants, LGBT rights and conflicts in certain parts of the globe, a genre such as the one played by Andead must give importance to the message, to content and the need to be a voice for human rights' violations.

"Andead does not side with any political party" Andrea continues, "Andead are a socially active band. Our lyrics don't have a color, but they touch on themes that should be of interest for our countrymen and for the punk community in general."

"#DEFEND" cites Amnesty International's "COURAGE" global campaign, aimed at bringing human rights' violation to an end. The song is Andead's second effort to be endorsed by Amnesty International Italy, after the video for "I See These Bombs", released in March 2017 and focused on the Syrian conflict.
