One of the most interesting offerings of the new French-speaking music scene, Aquaserge released albim Laisse ça être earlier this year via blegian Label Crammed Discs - it's a funny, dreamy, and poetic blend of genres that always manages to land on its feet. "Si loin, si proche" starts with more than two minutes of heady instrumentals before the vocals kick in with a calm tale of dance and love.
Made of two simultaneous single takes, the live video explore the song's lyrics literally ("So far, so close"), cameras swirling between musicians and dancers. Not shy of referencing other artists, the band's make-up and costumes nod to Soviet filmmaker Paradjanov.
