What does it feel like to walk on a wire, over 400 meters above the ground, in bustling New York City? Film lovers visiting the pre-opening film of Film Fest Gent will soon know, as the prestigious Belgian film festival premieres ‘The Walk’ on Monday 12 October. The extraordinary 3D effects used in the story of high-wire artist Petit will be exceptionally life-like as it will be screened on Barco’s ultra-bright 6P laser-illuminated projector.

Boasting over 30 years of expertise in 3D, Barco knows how to entice moviegoers into the cinema for dazzling 3D adventures. Its laser-illuminated projectors now take the 3D experience to the next level.

Wim De Witte: "As a film festival, Film Fest Gent naturally keeps a close eye on the latest developments in projection technology. Therefore we are delighted to present this technological revolution to the festival public, thanks to our loyal partner BARCO."

Barco: “Our laser illumination module than doubles how much light can be transmitted through a digital projector, making it the ideal solution for brighter 3D. What’s really unique about our laser projectors, in fact, is that they feature an integrated Laser3D system, with 6-Primary (6P) color laser modules. In this way, they show stunningly bright and uniform images in crisp detail, with exceptionally rich colors and eye-popping 4K contrast with great blacks. Without ghosting or crosstalk. Moreover, our special Barco Laser 3D glasses have very high transmission to enable a truly immersive viewing experience.”
