Today Captain Kaiser proudly present their sophomore album 'The Drovers Inn'. Coming Together with their newest single Hindsight, the record follows on the heels of singles Moscow Mule, Hotel Room and Post Gig Despression. Thomas Valkiers (Double Veterans, Crackups, Tin Fingers) is the producer in charge.
The Drovers Inn marks Captain Kaiser’s first release since their 2018 debut Dog Days On Deck, that launched the five-piece into the center of the Belgian punk scene. The band has demolished countless youth centers and greasy bars in the best possible ways, making renowned punk festivals like Sjock and El Topo Goes Loco eager to add Captain Kaiser to their line-ups.
Early 2020, The Drovers Inn was ready to press, but a dirty Chinese bat urged all clubs to lock their doors and Captain Kaiser to change their plans. The band cut their coats according to their cloths and used the extra time to take a serious shot at national radio. Today, Captain Kaiser is not only becoming a household name on leading radio stations Willy and StuBru, StuBru’s morning show host Michèle Cuvelier was even that charmed by the band that she asked them twice to write the soundtrack for an ad campaign about her program. Knack Focus, Belgium’s number-one music mag, premiered the clip of Post Gig Depression.

And now, it’s early 2021, The Drovers Inn is there, and it has not become a covid record. Or maybe it has, just by praising loud and clear what the virus makes us anxious about, like having a beer, seeing a young band on a small stage and coming home after midnight, exhausted from a fantastic gig. Captain Kaiser celebrates life in lifeless times and anyone who listens to The Drovers Inn knows again why all bars, clubs and youth centers must be reopened as soon as possible.
