In an ideal world, this weekend would have seen a slew of countries working together to create something beautiful: the Eurovision Song Contest, uniting people of all races, genders and sexes with the universal and powerful language of music. Sadly, this year's event has been postponed to 2021, but no one is resting on their laurels. The Eurostream 2020 was a stunning success. Hooverphonic came in fifth place and what's more: they ended up in second place in the televoting!

As a treat, today, the band will release 3 remixes of ‘Release Me’, that Alex Callier made in his 'Shades Of Green' studio:

1. Dark Matter Mix
2. Dark Matter Radio Edit
3. Triphop Mix

And now, brace yourself for something equally audacious: 'HOOVERCARILLON'.

Tomorrow, Flanders' province capitals will all be playing Hooverphonic's Eurovision song 'Release Me' on their bell tower's carillon. Quite the unique opportunity. Kenneth Theunissen, the carillonist from Hooverphonic's home turf of Sint-Niklaas, came up with the idea. The band was immediately charmed to bits, and agreed. 'Release Me - Carillon Edition' will additionally be played in Sint-Niklaas by Kenneth Twuenissen, Lier by Koen Van Assche, Hasselt by Jan Verheyen, Bruges by Wim Berteloot, Ghent by Jasmijn De Wachter, and Louvain by Marc Van Eyck. Don't miss these once in a lifetime performances. Tune in, Saturday 16 May 2020, at 8PM!

Also tomorrow, the day the Eurovision Song Contest would have taken place, there will be an alternative TV show organized by the EBU, broadcasted both on één & RTBF 'Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light'. The two-hour show will feature all 41 entries that were due to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, including Belgium’s Hooverphonic with ‘Release Me’. All combined, ‘Release Me’ has accumulated over 4 million global streams so far!

And there’s more: the band has just finished their ‘Home Version’ of the song, recorded in Corona isolation, to share with their fans during this special weekend. Watch it here.
