Today Milo Meskens releases his new EP ‘Plimsoll Road’; including the single ‘Something To Lose’.

Milo Meskens about the EP ‘Plimsoll Road’: "I moved to London in February ‘22, on a one-way train with no return date in mind. It was a fairly spontaneous decision born out of the desire to get things moving again, as the first weeks of the new year had brought postponed shows, a broken heart and a general feeling of aimlessness - a cycle I really wanted to break. So I packed my bags, called up a few friends in the Big Smoke and crashed on their couch until I found a place to rent. I ended up staying with Belle, a dear friend of mine for years who's been tour manager for acts as Yungblud, The Chainsmokers, Charli XCX (and Milo Meskens!), for the first part of my stay. We lived in Finsbury Park on a street called Plimsoll Road, which turned out to be such a pivotal place for me this year that I just had to name my EP after it. She introduced me to Lawrie Martin, cowriter of 'Perfect For Me' (#2 on this EP), who I ended up living with the last month and a half of my stay in South-London. During my stay in the UK I got to work with writers, producers and artists that had credits with absurdly big artists like Rihanna, Lewis Capaldi, Lana Del Ray, Fall Out Boy, Lianne La Havas, and many more - too many to keep namedropping to be honest. I ended up amassing a bunch of songs as the soundtrack to my time there, and it felt very right to bundle that into this little EP. I hope everyone who hears it enjoys it as much as I enjoyed my time living in London, as it was truly one of the happiest times of my life. Which is ironic, considering most of the songs sound really sad, haha!"

Milo Meskens about EP focus track ‘Something To Lose’:

`"I wrote Something To Lose right before I moved to London for a while. I got my heart broken by the end of last year and although it wasn't the only reason, it was definitely one of the main reasons why I left - why I felt the need to escape my life back home. I remember that everything seemed to remind me of her; every song on the radio, every post on social media, and I really needed to take a step back from all of that for a bit. For me, Something To Lose really encapsulates that feeling, and we even decided to keep the original recording of when I first played it live by the piano in my living room. It's one of the purest, rawest recordings I've ever put out, and I'm extremely proud of the song. I hope it resonates with everyone who feels like they were given something to lose."
