Time to indulge in a good tradition: launching the weekend with a fresh dose of news from the Rock Werchter Festival (Belgium). Earlier this week London Grammar and Jack White already were announced for the festival. Today another five great names are added to the bill: Snow Patrol, Eels, Fleet Foxes, Khalid and Marshmello.

Snow Patrol return after a long break. The band’s seventh album -follow up to Fallen Empires (2011)- is upcoming, the first shows for 2018 are booked. Snow Patrol play Rock Werchter on Friday 6 July. Eels also return to the stage after a break. Mr. E broke the news himself earlier this week. Eels are performing in Werchter on Sunday 8 July. Fleet Foxes will be appearing at the festival on Saturday 7 July. Their latest album, Crack-Up (2017), takes the band three levels higher than before. Khalid is one the most existing rising stars in music. The young American, not yet 20, brings a fine urban mix of soft beats, melancholia and synth to Werchter on Saturday 7 July. Marshmello is one of today’s best DJ’s and dance producers. He will make Werchter dance to the beats on Thursday 5 July.

Already confirmed for Rock Werchter 2018 are:

  • Thursday 5 July: Queens Of The Stone Age, Gorillaz, Marshmello
  • Friday 6 July: London Grammar, Snow Patrol
  • Saturday 7 July: Pearl Jam, Jack White, Fleet Foxes, Khalid
  • Sunday 8 July: Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Eels
