Amund Maarud stelt nieuw materiaal voor

Als frontman van bands als The Grand, Morudes, Amgala Temple, zijn eigen Amund Maarud Band en als solo-artiest heeft Amund Maarud in bijna 20 jaar een flink repertoire opgebouwd. Zijn laatste drie albums zijn allen genomineerd voor de Noorse Grammy Awards (in de categorie Blues en Rock) en hij wordt dan ook gezien als ‘one of the most prominent and energetic Norwegian guitarists’.

Op “Perfect Stranger” speelt Amund samen met Lucky Lips, uitgeroepen als ‘European Bluegrass band of 2017’. Aan een aantal tracks werkte de Nashville-muzikant/songschrijver/producent Jace Everett mee. Op dit album hoor je ‘the best of both worlds in the Country and Blues-genre’.

Op “Invisible Airships” hoor je de andere ruigere kant van Amund. Zijn gitaarspel wordt binnen het trio Amgala Temple ondersteund door bassist/keyboard-speler Lars Horntveth en drummer Gard Nillsen ; ‘the result is an overwhelming, instrumental and radiant clash of spontaneity and control & improvisation and clairvoyance, venturing into new, epic and freeform sonic landscapes’. Met haar ‘bold, experimental and imaginative music’ kun je de sound van Amgala Temple omschrijven als een mix van groovy alternative rock, jazz fusion, progrock en krautrock.
