Avatar kondigt album aan met single Tonight we must be warrriors

Zweedse heavy metal band Avatar brengt op 31 oktober hun nieuwe LP Don’t Go In The Forest uit. Van deze plaat verschenen al eerder de singles Captain Goat en In The Airwaves en deze week voegden ze daar Tonight We Must Be Warriors aan toe. Deze single staat centraal voor de urgentie van het album, waar frontman Johannes Eckerström over toelicht:

‘We need to discover something, try something else. It has to come from the heart. What is being said matters. In days of isolation and despair, maybe we need to be reminded that we are not alone? We are one of many. Maybe we also need a reminder that the burden is on our shoulders? To get it done, we need to do the fighting ourselves. In our shared pain, we find solidarity.”

De band staat bekend om hun live-spektakel met hun ‘Metal Circus’. Afgelopen maand was deze show te bewonderen als het voorprogramma van Metal-legendes Iron Maiden. In februari reizen ze weer af naar Nederland voor een show in AFAS Live, hun grootste headline show in Nederland tot nu toe.
