Een nieuwe plaat van "A Perfect Circle"
A Perfect Circle brengt ‘Eat The Elephant’ uit op 20 april via BMG. Het is het vierde full album van de band en is de opvolger van ‘eMOTIVe’ uit 2004.
Het album komt er na jaren van anticiperen en speculeren. Deze speculaties kenden een spreekwoordelijke climax wanneer de band van Maynard James Keenan en Billy Howerdel hun herfst tour lanceerden met de release van ‘The Doomed’. De band luidde vervolgens het nieuwe jaar in met het prijgeven van het contemplatieve 'Disillusioned'.
Keenan legt uit: “Although I’m extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus, I’m actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose. The 20th of April is Carina Round’s birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud.”
Howerdel voegt daaraan toe: “Demos are these precious ideas that you love in their initial state. Then you collaborate, invite other ideas, and watch them progress. That’s the dynamics and growth of a great record. I feel we’ve made a great record.”
Pre-orders voor het album dat gecoproduceerd werd door Dave Sardy (Autolux, Slayer), zijn nu mogelijk. Wie het album bestelt kan 'TalkTalk', 'Disillusioned' en 'The Doomed' onmiddellijk downloaden. 'Eat The Elephant' wordt uitgebracht in verschillende formaten: digitaal, CD, dubbele gatefold vinyl en een boxset met de vinyl-, CD- en hi-res digitale download, een prisma en een custom made spel kaarten. De band zal op de affiche staan van verschillende festivals waaronder Coachella, Las Rageous, Northern Invasion, Rock on the Range en Rocklahoma.
