HMLTD kondigt album aan met single I used to ride in limousines

Het Londense collectief HMLTD (Henry Spychalski, Duc Peterman, Andrei Martynchyk, Theo Spark) heeft de komst van hun nieuwe album FANGS aangekondigd, dat op 23 oktober zal verschijnen. Tegelijkertijd deelden ze de single I Used To Ride In Limousines.

Op hun derde album FANGS introduceert HMLTD een nieuw geluid: een extreme, elektronische heruitvinding van goth. De orkestrale rockopera‑aanpak van hun goed ontvangen vorige plaat The Worm maakt plaats voor Ableton‑gedreven rave‑synths, beats en rauwe gothic‑ en black‑metal vocalen. Hun gaat thematisch over succes en falen, waar de band zelf over vertelt: 

“It’s about making peace with failure, finding liberation in the sovereign, non-productive waste of failure, and about rejecting all instrumentalist notions of ‘success’ that subjugate life and the human experience itself to ‘success’ as an end goal. It's about rejecting the ego, and it's about rediscovering and redefining a sense of self-worth that is entirely one’s own"
