Lampshades On Fire is de nieuwe single van Modest Mouse

Modest Mouse, de indie rockers uit Washington, zijn terug met een nieuw album, ‘Strangers To Ourselves’ ligt op 27 februari in de winkel.

Hun laatste studio album “We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank” dateert al van 2007 en debuteerde op 1 in de Billboard charts. De laatste jaren speelden ze op grote festivals als The Governors Ball, Reading, Leeds, Sasquatch en als headliner op Coachella.

We moeten nog even wachten op het nieuwe album, maar om onze honger tot dan te stillen brengen ze alvast een eerste single uit, “Lampshades On Fire”.

Pitchfork schrijft het volgende over de single: “From the first second of "Lampshades on Fire", you know it's Modest Mouse; if you go straight long enough, you'll end up where you were. Not much about them has changed in the past eight years—there's Brock's redneck rap cadence, polaka-funk twithces, and the increasingly loud, slick production that's defined Modest Mouse's Sony output. ”
