Morta Skuld is terug met het langverwachte album Wounds Deeper Than Time

Morta Skuld is herrezen! De Amerikaanse death metal-helden van weleer hebben hun nieuwste album afgerond. Wounds Deeper Than Time is het eerste studio album dat verschijnt sinds Surface uit 1997. Voor de release van het album is Morta Skuld herenigd met

Peaceville Records. Het album verschijnt op 17 februari.

Met Wounds Deeper Than Time bewijst Morta Skuld zich nog altijd te kunnen meten aan de death metal standaard anno 2016. Een mix van power, brutaliteit, verpletterende riffs en geschifte melodieën, gegrond in de old school death metal van begin jaren 90. Het album is geproduceerd door Scott Creekmore (Putrid Pile, Broken Hope, No Zodiac, Waco Jesus, Bloodline, Lividity) in de Mercenary Studio in Missouri. De band bestaat uit oprichter David Gregor, bijgestaan door Scott Willecke (Gitaar), AJ Lewandowski (bas) en Eric House (drums).

Frontman Dave Gregor over het album: “It is such a pleasure being back home on a label we started out with years ago, Peaceville still to this day has a great roster of bands and have stayed true to underground music. We’re happy to be home again where we started. This album brings an old school death metal feel with a degree of technicality. The new line-up brings a fresh feel but still in the Morta Skuld vein & the songs/vocals are a fine continuation of the Surface album we did years ago. This is definitely the strongest line-up we have had, and can’t wait ‘til you all can hear what we have been working so hard on for the last year”

Morta Skuld werd opgericht in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1990. Met een aantal onderbrekingen inbegrepen, begeeft de band zich al meer dan 25 jaar in de Amerikaanse death metal scene. Tot midden jaren 90 bracht de band drie albums uit via Peaceville Records.
