Summer Breeze - 11 First Time Bands
Summer Breeze has announced 11 bands that never played SUMMER BREEZE Open Air before:
- Meshuggah. With the commitment of the gentlemen from Swedish Umeå, a dream come true, after all, the experimental metallers have already been writing metal history since 1987. Their style is musically difficult to classify, but it doesn't matter, because what matters is: Meshuggah have influenced so many bands and are finally coming to dinkelsbühl!
- Lionheart. In-your-face hardcore is always good, right?! Excellent, because in 2019 a big-balls hardcore band called LIONHEART will celebrate their Dinkelsbühl premiere!
There will definitely be enough action on and off the stage, so all fans of bands such as Hatebreed, First Blood, Terror etc. know what they have to do in August 2019! - Avatar. The circus is coming to town – and we mean it literally! Sweden's AVATAR are coming to Dinkelsbühl for the very first time.Anyone who's ever seen the guys from Gothenburg play live will attest to the fact that they have much more to offer than super catchy metal anthems. AVATAR really puts on a show.
- Ghaals WYRD. As is known, GAAHLS WYRD is the new playground of the former Gorgoroth and God Seed musician Gaahl, where he completely focuses on his particular vision of – who would have thought – black metal.
- After The Buriel. Alright, we know tech bands are always well received at our festival, and that's why you should give a warm welcome to AFTER THE BURIAL!
The Minnesota boys have been at it for about 15 years, having gone through a few ups and downs in the process. Yet the band have not budged and will take the SUMMER BREEZE stage more determined than ever in 2019 to slap their technical, rhythmically complex melodeath around your ears. Not to be missed! - Zeal & Ardor. The Swiss avantgarde black metal band will surely leave a deep impression on you with their breathtaking live peformance. Sure, you have to (be able to) embrace the mix of gospel and black metal, but when you do, you will experience a fantastic band that is even more gripping live than on record. Our tip for 2019: forget your preconceptions and enjoy the ZEAL & ARDOR!
- Knasterbart.A street band which has been causing a stir for six years with their street folk. The band led by Hotze Knasterbart (Malte from Versengold) and Fummelfips Knasterbart (Simon from Mr. Hurley) know what their fans want: party, party, party – and even more party on top. With their alcohol-infused songs they regularly triumph at all of Germany's medieval festivals, so it is about time KNASTERBART get all their fans in Dinkelsbühl to get up and dance too.
- Of Mice & Men. Over 15 million records sold in about ten years kinda speaks for itself. In 2014 the metalcore act from Costa Mesa, California had to cancel their SUMMER BREEZE appearance due to their singer's health problems. The post hardcore/metalcore unit will make their show at SUMMER BREEZE 2019 an unforgettable event!
- Crippled Black Phoenix. Almost everyhting from black metal fans to blues rockers to hippies can be found in their audience. You see, this band is for everyone, not least because their current album 'Great Escape' turned out so incredibly great and beautiful, it even made their fiercest critics shut up. Make sure you check out this cool band, you are in for an incredibly intense concert experience!
- King Diamond. All hail the King! With the next confirmation we will probably increase the heart rate of not just all old school fans among our patrons, because KING DIAMOND have announced they are paying us a visit!
The cult group not only deeply influenced countless bands, but remain absolutely unique until today. With their old school metal, their theatrics and, last but not least, the insane voice of the King himself, the band has set standards with their shows that are second to none. Don't. Miss. This! - Bullet For My Valentine. They left the much cited genre metalcore behind and found their own (musical) ways years ago, and now they're coming to Dinkelsbühl for the very first time. They have always managed not to neglect what has been their number one trademark since the beginning: melodies.
