The Gaslight Anthem stelt voor 59 Sound Sessions

In 2008 kwam het Amerikaanse The Gaslight Anthem met hun doorbraak album. The ’59 Sound is inmiddels niet meer weg te denken en om het tien-jarig bestaan te vieren brengt de band het begeleidende album 60-pagina-tellend fotoboek The ’59 Sound Sessions uit.

Dit album bevat vroege versies van hits als Great Expectations, Miles Davis & The Cool en het onwijs populaire titelnummer, opgenomen in de maanden voordat de band de studio in ging. Ook bevat de plaat Placeholder (niet eerder verschenen), Our Father’s Sons, plus een cover van het door Johnny Cash bekend gemaakte folk nummer God’s Gonna Cut You Down.

“The journey a band goes through is complex,” legt The Gaslight Anthem drummer Benny Horowitz uit in het begeleidende fotoboek. “We were perpetually on the road and in a state of constant motion. I can’t think of a better time to try and create the most significant thing of your life when it was the most significant time of all our lives. I’m so happy to share this moment of our existence.”

The Gaslight Anthem is: Brian Fallon (zang / gitaar), Alex Rosamilia (gitaar), Alex Levine (bas) en Benny Horowitz (drums / percussie).

Deze zomer is de band op tour en speelt het The ’59 Sound integraal. Een exclusieve Benelux show in 013, Tilburg.
