A Room Full Of Strangers becomes his most personal record

This Friday, A Room Full Of Strangers by JW Roy & The Royal Family is released. You can hear JW Roy reflect all last years happenings on his 10th album so far. Some of the people involved in these sometimes personal events have part in this release, like Ilse DeLange, Tangarine, Lea Kliphuis and even JW's brother Jeroen Roy.

2017 is marked as a special year with both ups and downs. JW Roy suddenly loses his beloved father, but he also celebrates his 20 year anniversary as a professional songwriter and signs an international deal with Downtown Music Publishing. Also, JW receives an Sena Performers Award for most played Dutch song on Dutch national radio.

When JW started to work on A Room Full Of Strangers he planned to write songs about 'other people', strangers to him. "Not much was going on personally. I was kind of relaxed and things ran smooth. Just a few weeks later everything changed and that had a major influence on the songwriting-proces. I was liberated from my self proclaimed boundaries and started to do what I do best, write songs while being inspired by my personal situation", says JW Roy.
