Above & Beyond Announce ‘Anjuna:Chilled 01,’ Reimagining 25 Years of Anjuna Classics

Above & Beyond introduce Anjuna:Chilled 01, the first installment in a new compilation series that takes some of the most celebrated records from across the Anjuna catalog and reimagines them in ambient, downtempo, and beatless form.

Due December 3 on Anjunachill, the 16-track collection brings together music spanning generations of the label, with artists including Above & Beyond, OceanLab, Jaytech, Luminary, Smith & Pledger, Andrew Bayer, Dusky, Jody Wisternoff and PROFF. Above & Beyond contribute six brand-new reworks: new versions of ‘Sun & Moon,’ OceanLab’s ‘Sky Falls Down,’ Justin Blau & XIRA’s ‘Tokyo,’ Smith & Pledger’s ‘White,’ Luminary’s ‘Amsterdam’ and PROFF’s ‘Deep Orange.’

The project grew out of Anjunachill’s existing Revisited series, expanding the concept into a broader body of work that invites artists from across the Anjuna family, from heritage names to newer signings, to revisit records from the catalog and approach them from a different perspective.

“We’re pleased to present to you a new chapter in the Anjuna catalog: revisits and reworks of label classics, distilled and chilled for your listening pleasure. Our Anjunachill imprint is now four years old, and has hosted some inspiring downtempo and neo-classical rearrangements of records we’ve loved throughout Anjuna’s 25 years. ‘Anjuna:Chilled 01’ is the first edition of a series that sees artists revisit records from the Anjuna catalog, providing fresh takes and helping us fall in love with music from the past two decades all over again. The compilation features contributions from artists across the labels. And from us - a number of reworks of some of our favorites, including our new downtempo mix of ‘Sun & Moon ’, which includes an unreleased second verse. We hope you enjoy” - Jono, Paavo and Tony.

Reaching across more than two decades of Anjuna history, the compilation features 13 previously unreleased reworks and revisits alongside three existing favorites: Dusky’s revisit of ‘Mr Man,’ Planet Of Souls’ revisit of Jody Wisternoff and Sian Evans’ ‘The Bridge,’ and Ryan Davis’ revisit of Andrew Bayer and Ane Brun’s ‘Hold On To You.’ The new contributions include fresh interpretations of records by Jaytech, Maor Levi, Anyasa and Bawari Basanti, Tontario and Lake Jons, Powel, Dosem, Parallel Voices and more.

The first glimpse of the compilation comes September 14 with Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford ‘Sun & Moon (Downtempo Version)’. First released in 2011 on the trio’s landmark album Group Therapy, ‘Sun & Moon’ has become one of the defining songs in the Above & Beyond catalog and a lasting centerpiece of their live shows. The original has amassed more than 67 million streams, while this new interpretation brings Bedford’s unmistakable vocals to the forefront and adds a verse previously heard in Above & Beyond’s acoustic rendition.

Fans had their first chance to hear Anjuna:Chilled 01 in full at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 700 at The Gorge Amphitheatre, with an exclusive listening session of the complete album taking place during the weekend. ‘Sun & Moon (Downtempo Version)’ also had a surprise debut at The Gorge as an encore at the end of Above & Beyond’s headline set.

Anjuna: Chilled 01 arrives following Anjuna’s 25th anniversary, which the label marked throughout 2025 with the Anjuna25 compilation series, a full venue takeover in New York and a limited-edition 10-vinyl box set spanning 84 tracks from across Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and Anjunachill. Drawing on a vast, respected catalog built over 25 years, Anjuna:Chilled 01 presents new versions of some of its most enduring records, approaching familiar music from a fresh perspective.

Anjuna:Chilled 01 piggybacks off another major chapter for Above & Beyond. Their fifth studio album, Bigger Than All Of Us, was followed by a landmark North American amphitheater tour that brought the group to more than 130,000 fans. The compilation also circles back to a quieter side of their sound that has been there since the beginning. Ambient and downtempo moments have appeared throughout their catalog, from Tri-State and Group Therapy through to 2019’s Flow State, their dedicated album for yoga, meditation and reflection. That history ultimately helped lead to the creation of Reflections in 2022 and its evolution into Anjunachill in 2025. Anjunachill has since grown to more than 200 releases from 161 artists and 290 million streams, giving the wider Anjuna family a dedicated home for ambient, downtempo, neo-classical and chillout music.

With Anjuna:Chilled 01, that ethos is turned back toward the catalog itself. Familiar melodies, vocals, and records remain at the heart of the collection, but are given new space to breathe away from the dancefloor.

The visual identity follows a similarly hands-on approach. Created, photographed, and designed entirely in-house, the artwork uses real Anjuna ice sculptures, with the creative team documenting the process behind their creation.

Anjuna:Chilled 01 will be available digitally and as a limited-edition 2x12" gatefold release on transparent vinyl. Following ‘Sun & Moon,’ the campaign continues October 1 with Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab ‘Sky Falls Down (Downtempo Version)’ and Tontario feat. Lake Jons ‘Solitude (Vár Sofandi Rework),’ followed by Jaytech ‘Atlantic (Ambient Revisit)’ on October 22 and Luminary ‘Amsterdam (Above & Beyond’s Downtempo Version)’ on November 12. The full compilation arrives December 3, led by focus track Smith & Pledger ‘White (Above & Beyond’s Ambient Mix)’ - pre-order here.

ABOUT ABOVE & BEYOND

Above & Beyond, or Jono, Tony, and Paavo, as they are better known to their legions of fans worldwide, have been at the forefront of electronic dance music for two decades.

Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels and hosts of a weekly radio show that reaches millions of dance lovers every Friday (Group Therapy), the trio has earned two GRAMMYTM nominations for the anthems “Northern Soul” feat. Richard Bedford and “We're All We Need” feat. Zoë Johnston. In 2018, the band’s fourth electronic album, Common Ground, debuted at number three on the Official Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Since then, Above & Beyond have continued to expand their global reach with their fifth studio album, ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ a record centered on reconnection and community, followed by a landmark North American amphitheater tour that brought their music to over 130,000 fans. The trio recently returned to one of their most iconic settings for ABGT700 at The Gorge Amphitheater, marking the newest milestone in their long-running Group Therapy series.

Described by UK music bible Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band,” Above & Beyond's enviable list of sold-out shows includes headline performances at historic venues like Madison Square Garden in NYC, Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall London, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as well as record-breaking turnouts for their own festival events on LA's Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State.

Songwriters and producers first, and DJs second, Above & Beyond’s unwavering commitment to their craft has fuelled a career that many electronic artists today might only dream of: four acclaimed electronic studio albums, 17 compilation albums (Anjunabeats Volume series), two ‘acoustic’ albums, and a stand-alone album for yoga and meditation - not to mention innumerable club cuts and dance remixes.
