Ava Londen: one week to go
One of Europe’s most promising young events, AVA Festival has broken boundaries in Northern Ireland since 2015, a first of its kind event in Belfast. Next weekend, AVA heads to London for the very first time, taking over Hackney spot Hanger for a packed St Patricks day programme across 16th / 17th March. Featuring the most exciting emerging Irish talent, conversations with leading industry figures (think Moxie, Crazy P, Monki) and two nights filled with live electronic shows from Dark Sky, Genius of Time, Ryan Vail PLUS DJ sets from a motley of crew of loved selectors including Optimo, Orl:la, Saoirse and Swoose, there’s no better way to spend the most Irish weekend of the year. By day, Friday 16th March consists of a series of free talks, tech workshops, industry panels, plus studio tours hosted by both Secret Sundaze Studios and Urchin Studio
The evening will see live performances from a host of revered artists. Catch Swedish duo, Genius of Time bringing their encaptivating live set to Hangar, plus acclaimed Northern Irish producer, Ryan Vail is set to stun with his highly acclaimed emotive, melancholic and melodica electronica performance. Don't miss live synth action from R. Kitt plus get your dancefloor fill from House of Disco boss Magnier, and Belfast born – Berlin based Sally C.
Saturday 17th March is a full St Patricks Day shakedown, with 3 hour sets from 3 of the most exciting selectors, the legendary Optimo, eclectic party maven Saoirse and rising star Or:la, with support from Swoose. Head down, grab a drink and warm up with sets from DJ Deece, High Hoops and Dave McDonagh.
