Beffroi: new single & video '95-96' premiers on Konbini France & Wonderland Magazine

BEFFROI is ready to unleash the follow up to their latest single ‘Jade’. On the brooding and feverish ’95-96’ Rori and Valentin teamed up with rapper DVTCH NORRIS. Together they created a slow ticking time-bomb of an electropop single. “It’s the story of being in your twenties in 2017. Torn between teen and adult life not knowing where the hell you belong in this world. It’s about the challenges our generation faces today”; Valentin explains. Or as Dvtch puts it: “I'm running away from my problems, but the problem is I don't have the right lungs too run the distance needed.” He shouldn’t worry too much, as his lungs serve him well, delivering a topnotch performance over Rori’s hypnotic beats.

For the video Beffroi teamed up with director Romain Choay: “The track has a very strong relationship with water for me, it conjured the notion of drowning, literally but also figuratively. Sort of an odd to those who are distressed and who wish to break free from it. I devised these three stories of kids, all struggling with something different at the same exact time, and who are bound by their malaise.”

About Beffroi:

Formed in 2015, the Belgian duo released their first single “Swim” through Kitsuné’s Hot Stream compilation. A second single ‘Faint’ - recalls the intensity of Portishead, while tumbling through a midnight realm entirely of its own design as stated by Clash Music – followed in 2016. Their latest single ‘Jade’ was released in September this year. Earmilk called it “a moody, mind-bending electro-pop tune” while Crack In the Road felt it “manages to feel strikingly elegant whilst also being unnervingly honest.”
