Boys Noize to be curator of I Love Tehchno's Yellow Room
The date has been set, and the first few names announced. The lineup for I Love Techno 2014 is taking shape. Today, I Love Techno has big news: this year, Boys Noize will be curating the Yellow Room. Especially for I Love Techno, Alexander Ridha will be putting together three DJ pairings for some unique back-2-back sets. Erol Alkan will be going b2b with Daniel Avery. Tiga with Audion. And, as previously announced, Gesaffelstein with Brodinski. Also, Boys Noize will be playing his own set in the Yellow Room..
BOYS NOIZE, otherwise known as Alexander Ridha, is one of the top DJs on the dance scene right now. His blend of techno, electro and house makes him completely unique. He's one of the greatest DJs of his generation. But he's a talented musician, remixer and producer as well. Ridha also releases music as Dog Blood (his project with Skrillex) and Handbraekes (with Mr Oizo). And he runs the label Boysnoize Records. He's currently working with (Chilly) Gonzales. And in the past he's worked with EROL ALKAN – the man behind the legendary Trash Club, who fused indie rock and dance to magnificent effect in the 90s. Alkan is someone who's open to all kinds of music, as you can see from his work. He has remixed tracks for bands like Tame Impala, Franz Ferdinand and MGMT. And the releases from his label Phantasy also demonstrate the diversity of his sound. He has had big successes with ‘Caramel’ by Connan Mockasin and ‘Drone Logic’ by DANIEL AVERY . Avery is one of the resident DJs at London's famous Fabric Club. He's also the organiser of the regular 'Divided Love' nights. And coming out this autumn in the FABRICLIVE series is an album mixed by... none other than Erol Alkan. At I Love Techno, Avery and Alkan will be brought together, back to back.
Two other DJ heavyweights – TIGA and AUDION – will also be on the decks together. We all know Tiga for classics like ‘Sunglasses at Night’, ‘You Gonna Want Me’ and ‘Mind Dimension'. But he's also the man behind Turbo Recordings, the label that's home to artists like Chromeo, Duke Dumont, Azari & III, Proxy and Gesaffelstein. Tiga is currently working on his third album. The Chemical Brothers, Boys Noize, Julio Bashmore and Jake Shears are rumoured to be adding their contributions to it. Audion is one of the many alter egos of Matthew Dear, also known as False and Jabberjaw. In collaboration with Tiga, he's released the acclaimed tracks ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ and ‘Fever'.
The third superstar pairing playing a back-to-back set in the Yellow Room are French DJs GESAFFELSTEIN and BRODINSKI, the hottest techno producers of the moment. Also in the Yellow Room will be Jimmy Edgar, as previously announced. The opening act will be revealed soon.
