Dagny releases much-anticipated third album 'Dancefloor Erotica'

Norwegian pop force Dagny today releases her much-anticipated third album Dancefloor Erotica.

Dagny celebrates the album's release tonight with a headline performance at Bergenfest, before closing Norway's iconic Øya Festival on 15th August and embarking on a UK / EU headline tour in early 2027.

New album Dancefloor Erotica follows her critically acclaimed 2020 debut 'Strangers / Lovers' and its 2024 follow-up 'ELLE', but marks a clear shift into bolder and more instinctive territory, with Dagny pushing further than ever before - embracing movement and self-expression with total abandon.

Lead singles 'Dancefloor Erotica' and 'Closet Disco Queen' hinted at this new direction - both produced by Matias Tellez (girl in red, AURORA) and co-written with Nick Hahn (ZAYN, Mimi Webb, aespa).

Elsewhere, the album reveals darker and more uncompromising edges, from the club-driven rush of 'Gosh!' featuring Metteson and produced by Vetle Junker, to the high-speed pulse of 'Black Bugatti'. Alongside key collaborators including Matias Tellez, Nick Hahn, Coucheron, RatCity and Gustav Nyström, Dagny expands her sonic palette without losing sight of the huge hooks and euphoric energy that have become her trademark.

Speaking on the release of the new album, Dagny shared:

"Dancefloor Erotica is inspired by the playfulness of David Byrne and Talking Heads, the confidence of Madonna, the fearlessness of Lady Gaga—and, not least, the desire to move to music. I think I’ll always want to explore new things and feel like I’m evolving, and I love that music can become the soundtrack to different periods of life and frame different emotions. For me, this album became a reminder to be brave during a time when I needed that reminder. I’m very excited to see how fans will receive it, but I hope they can use these songs in their everyday lives—that they can inspire a feeling of strutting confidently down the street, showing yourself to the world, standing tall, caring a little less about what others think, and trusting yourself.”

At a time when escapism and connection feel more necessary than ever, Dancefloor Erotica is Dagny's most uninhibited album yet - a celebration of desire, liberation and what she affectionately dubbed "Scandinavian Strut" in her recent digital cover story with Dork Magazine. Written as she learned to trust her instincts and "think a little less", the record finds Dagny embracing confidence, movement and self-expression with total abandon. The result is a bold new chapter that, in the words of CLASH Magazine's recent 8/10 review, proves "the dancefloor will never die", fuelled throughout by "big beats and bigger hooks".

Dagny's new album 'Dancefloor Erotica' is out today, 12th June via EMI / Universal Music & Little Daggers Records. Dagny headlines Øya Festival and Bergenfest this summer and embarks on a UK / EU headline tour in Jan / Feb 2027. Tickets for Dagny's 2027 headline tour are on sale now HERE.

MORE ABOUT DAGNY

Tromsø, Norway born Dagny Norvoll Sandvik is an irrepressible pop force. Dagny's music has been streamed over a billion times, she's been nominated for 8 Norwegian Grammy's (Spellemannprisen), co-written songs for Katy Perry, Ashnikko, and Julie Bergan, and collaborated with acts including Liverpool indie-rock heroes The Wombats, American super-producer Steve Aoki, fellow Norwegian powerhouses Kygo, Astrid S and Seeb, and Spanish-English indie-pop outfit Crystal Fighters.

Dagny's debut album 'Strangers / Lovers', released in May 2020 proved her credentials, spawning hit single "Somebody" with over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, with high praise coming in for the album from The Guardian ("thundering synthpop explosion”), The Independent ("dazzling pop - 8/10"), BBC Music ("one of 2020's most assured debuts"), The Metro ("sleak, neat set of bops - Albums Of The Week") and more.

Mini-album 'ELLE' followed in 2024. Another tantalising snapshot into her pop-powers, the album received widespread support from The Independent, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, NME, Dork Magazine & more - culminating in a momentous sold-out 10,000-capacity Oslo Spektrum Arena headline show.

2025 saw Dagny tour Europe and Norway extensively, with an array of Norwegian festival headline slots, and runs as main support to Jess Glynne and Justin Timberlake.
